James S. "Big Jim" Griffith

Griffith, the author of "A Border Runs Through It," is one of the foremost folklorists in the nation. He ran the University of Arizona’s Southwest Folklore Center between 1979 and 1998. He is the author of seven books on Southern Arizona folk arts and started the annual Tucson Meet Yourself folklife festival.
