Here's what some of our participating authors had to say about the 2010 Tucson Festival of Books:

"We had an utterly wonderful time and can't thank everyone enough for their graciousness. Tucson has leapt into the first rank of our favorite places. The festival is grrrreat, but it's the people and city that make it so. Thanks for being so very nice to our family."

Scott Simon (and family), author of "Windy City: A Novel of Politics,"
and host of NPR Weekend Edition

"I thought the festival was wonderful - and the volunteers were amazing!! Thanks for the invite, and please do invite me again to come next year. Congratulations on the huge success of the festival! Happy Reading."
Alice Hoffman, "The Story Sisters"

"Take gorgeous weather, add 50,000 passionate readers, and stir in 450+ authors and you get the Tucson Festival of Books -a large-scale event that still feels personal and intimate - I was honored to be a part of it."
Jamie Ford, "Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet"

"It was an amazing weekend, punctuated with great weather, outstanding authors, activities/exhibits for all ages and thousands of happy attendees," said Bill Viner, chairman of the Tucson Festival of Books.

He estimated 2010 attendance at 70,000 to 80,000 over the Festival's two days.

"The authors seem to enjoy the event as much as anybody and they are extremely complimentary of Tucson and the people they have met," said Viner.

"Special thanks to the Arizona Daily Star, the University of Arizona, Diamond Children's Hospital, all the other sponsors, authors, exhibitors and volunteers that made the Festival such an outstanding community event. We are looking forward to next year." The next Tucson Festival of Books will be March 12-13, 2011.

Also: Thanks, entertainers!
